Her Effect

Passing loveliness ...

Fleeting chord ...

Wafting fragrance ...

Tingling air ...

Striking colors ...

All elicit response.

Now here ... then gone.

Impact ... then Memory.

Impression ... then afterglow.

Lofty peak ... then soft meadow.

Such is her effect.

The Mist that was her Presence.

The vapor that lingers.

She touched me.

Whomever this is written about is a very blessed woman. Your simple words evoke so much emotion, John-Michael.

She is a young woman who I met, only briefly, recently. She hasn't even the most remote clue as to the archive of emotions that her similarity to Someone in my distance past awakened. But the effect is so strong ... and lingering ... that I had to give vent to it. A passing, fleeting wisp of memories ... that live on.

How I have missed your tender, sweet Presence, Dearest NiteByrd! I do love you so! [smile]

Many powerful emotions distilled into a minimum of words. Nicely done, J-M.

Many hours of reflection ... many pages of much-wordier effort ... all in a feeble attempt to invite you into this experience. I do hope that this distillation makes natural, and comfortable, your joining me in my wonder and awe at Love's workings.

Your Presence and camaraderie blesses me every time, my Dear SulDog Friend.

Love Ya, Jim ...

the editing yielded something truly lovely.

I am so very grateful for your mention of "the editing" and its effect with you, my Dear Lime. I am always sensitive to the 'architectural' effect of the print on page. It is my conviction that we respond to such structure in ways equal to the literal and textual presentation. Having you take such kind notice ... and so generously speak of it ... is a wonderful encouragement and validation of my belief. Thank You!!

Lovingly ...
