When a poet sings the song that is of my heart's yearning ... I can but bow in gratitude ... and share its beauty with you.
Hence, with thanks to John Keefe, I offer his
"There's Still Romance in the Sixties".
With you beside me it is Spring for ever.
Blooming small white flowers…
velvet-soft in first warm sun;
purple and blue carpets of violets and bluebells.
No more winter with its icy winds…
its damp-cold snow and dismal rain.
With you beside me it is Spring for ever.
First warm earth-days of a new season.
An old sweater’s warmth,
while sitting on the stump of a once proud oak tree…
watching the tiny birds flit into budding branches overhead.
Wood creatures bustle about refreshing their minds,
after a long winter’s watch.

With you beside me it is Spring for ever.
Out of the cold life of a wintertime and into young-time.
Like the trees I feel a budding and tingle…
as the life giving juices seep through my body.
I raise my arms like tree branches to the sun,
and give thanks for you beside me.

With you beside me it is winter no more;
it is Spring, then summer and then autumn…
and for the next winter I’ll have your Spring charm,
your Spring warmth, Your Spring flowering,
your Spring loveliness to blanket me.
With you beside me it will be Spring for ever and ever and ever.

What absolutely beautiful words! If we could all find that person that makes us feel spring is forever.
I am so glad, Trixie, my Darling, that I can share the beauty of this hope with You. You, of all, deserve to less.
I love You.
Very beautiful, JM. As always, thank you for sharing it.
Have a lovely weekend, dear friend.
lovely, imagery and pictures to go with it.
now forgive my offbeat humor....i hope that springlike presence doesn't include inducing hayfever.
I comfortably envision You, Dear NiteByrd, as that Springtime for the One of your election ... the One drawn to You by Life's gentle coaxing and convincing. How fortunate for you both.
Lovingly ...
Even the allergy-stirring moisture of those damp and dank grounds, at the base of the shaded trees, are an elixir of beauteous quality, when considering the benefit of enjoying the moment in the companionship of ... That One.
Yes ... Dearest Lime ... I am beyond rational sensibility as I indulge in Romantic Illusion.
With Love ...
Lovely. And you chose some beautiful shots to go with the words. Nice job, John-Michael.
Thank you, my SulDog Friend. I'm glad that you enjoyed it with me. 'Makes it much nicer, and more enjoyable for me, when I can share the Good Stuff with someone who means a lot to me. And, as you well know, Jim, you certainly are one of those meaningful folk in my life.
Love you, my Friend ...
Hello my dear John Michael, just wanted to pop by and see how you are doing. I am so very glad I did, what beautiful words and photographs, like a breath of fresh air - especially as we are in the middle of Winter over here in Australia. Thank you my friend, take good care, Jen B. xxx
If I knew how to do a cartwheel, I would do one for Joy at hearing from You, My Dearest Jen. I'm so glad that I could drop a few images and thoughts your way, to bring some warmth and snuggly comfort in the midst of a winter's chill.
Sure do love You.
Simply beautiful :)
To provide Beauty for the enjoyment of your beautiful Spirit, Dear Casdok, gives me genuine satisfaction and joy.

John-Michael, when I first read the title "There's Still Romance in the Sixties," I was expecting some retro revisiting of the Summer of Love.
As I read, I realized this piece is about Spring in the Autumn, and yes, it could have been written by one who enjoyed the Summer of Love.
Time, it's a tricky thing, isn't it?
Isn't it lovely to have the joy of, yet another, fresh perspective on this wondrous thing that we know as Love! How I do thrill in each new revelation, My Darling Friend, San.

Just wanted to say how we enjoyed the music on your site last night. That is the first time the sound has been switched on since I arrived in NY. The kids enjoyed it too! Esp the Israel piece. Immensely enjoyable, so thank you! Annie
Oh Annie! I am so happy that you enjoyed these reflections of my Spirit's song. You have, once again, blessed me with our shared Friendship . Thank you, Darling Friend.
