and mine would be "i can't get no satisfaction." that's maybe the song of a conflicted idealist?

I came over here feeling pretty puny today and I am leaving feeling like Joan of Arc! Thanks for the inspiration. Beautiful version of "The Impossible Dream"!

So ... let's see what we have here, Lime, Darlin.' We have the struggle between your Inner 'Ideologue' (noun: a dogmatic or uncompromising adherent of a given ideology.) and your Inner 'Idealist' (noun: one who pursues higher and nobler forms, or expressions, of a given ideology.) And what you would have me believe is that you can't decide between clinging to a Basic, Fundamental, idea ... or ... longing to discover ever better evolutions of that idea. Wow! Poor Baby! That must be horribly uncomfortable in that place. (You sure do present it in a totally lovable form!!)[smile]

I love you!

And now ... Sweet Willow ... you have implanted the image of you, in the theatrical costume, of the iconic Joan of Arc, in my mind. And I don't mind saying that the image is quite fetching! [silly grin!]

I am genuinely delighted that I could offer a means to transport you from 'puny' to 'inspired.' THAT makes me feel very good!

Man of LaMancha was one of the first plays I ever saw. I've been tilting at windmills ever since. Thank you for the memory.

Oh Sandi! ... you have just made my day! How very lovely to hear from you. I have thought of, and missed you so! 'Tis a grand thing to be able to know that I had this tiny bit of an opportunity to give you the gift of a fond memory. I am grateful for your being so gracious, and letting me know.

If only we could start each day with this song - and not fall under the weight of reality.

An impossible dream? Perhaps not...

I am (and have, for a very long time been) convinced that the Reality of the Spirit is far more tangible, permanent, and meaningful than all of the transitory stuff that claims (and, unfortunately is granted by far too many) the title of Reality. And, My Most Precious of Friends, I enable my Self to live in an acute awareness of those aspects of life that Others plod through their hours and days oblivious to.

The beautiful Truth of our loving friendship, Dearest Aims, is validation of the fact to which I refer. Need we say more?

I love the music from Man of la Mancha and I haven't heard this in ages - thank you for reminding me to follow my dreams, no matter how hopeless....

John-Michael you always make me think, wonder, feel, contemplate and smile...I'm so grateful to share in your quest. I truly don't believe that any dream is impossible nor any star unreachable. The world is a better place by far because of those who reach and dream. Lisa L.

Karen, My Dear, with the magic of your Profile's smile illuminating my Spirit, and the power of your words tugging at my Heart, I do, indeed, hope that the concept of 'hopeless' will be now, and forever-more, alien to your Soul's dreams. (I have never desired anything, more sincerely!)

Ahhhhh ... Lisa, My Darling Friend, I am heartened, strengthened, and elevated by the promise of your harmony in our lives' wonderful Quest. You just made me feel very good indeed! Thank you!

I'm not sure my goals are noble but I also have some Quixote in my heart. This song truly stirs the spirit.

John-Michael said...

How wonderful, Dear CasDoc, that I have the opportunity to introduce you to this marvelous song! I am smiling with pleasure! (And my Spirit is smiling with that quiet joy that your Presence always brings.)

namaste ...

As lovely as your Spirit is, even at rest ... "stirred" presents, yet again, an even more significant appreciation of the beauty of Who you are, Darling NiteByrd. And I am so glad that I could be the One doing that "stirring," on this occasion. [smile]

That sounds like a dichotomy... dreaming the impossible dream. If it is truly is impossible then to dream the impossible is to create a fantasy in itself. Now to achieve the impossible dream that is truly an idealistic accomplishment ~ both achieving it in part or or in entirety.

My recent theme song has been "Unwritten." A modern song but damn that blank slate... very unnerving to put one's stroke on that blank canvas. ~Sharon

While the Light-bulb was (not so many years ago) a Fantasy ... I find myself grateful for those who chose to dream of it ... and reach beyond all limitations of knowledge, and discouragements of failed efforts, to bring its convenience to my Reality. It surely made typing this little note far more convenient.

And, as a child of the Deep South ... I am still in "Rejoice Mode" with all of Those who knew Achievement of our shared National Dream last night. From the pain of isolation born of Segregation to the ecstasy of freedom of our National Soul born of the election of Barack Obama to lead us toward our next "Impossible Dream" ... is the living embodiment of the merits inherent in Dreams.

Loving you, Dearest ~Sharon ...

I think, had you asked me, I would have chosen that song for you.

I used to say that my theme song was "D.O.A." by Bloodrock, but that was just a joke that not too many people got. If I truly had to choose one, I might pick "The Joker", from the musical "The Roar Of The Greasepaint, The Smell Of The Crowd". It's a bit of bathos, but much truth also.

Nah. "Don't Worry, Be Happy." Maybe. I don't know. I'm slightly worried.

John-Michael said...

I am going to have to check out the lyrics to "The Roar Of The Greasepaint, The Smell Of The Crowd" and work out a melding with the lyrics to "Don't Worry, Be Happy." ... then I'll offer what I come up with, to you, for your response Jim, Dear SulDog Friend. This sounds like an intriguing enterprise! [smile]

Love Ya, My Friend ...

A great theme song to have, John-Michael. I'm chuckling over Lime's song and trying to think what mine might be. I believe I don't have enough caffeine pumping in my blood quite yet--I'm drawing a blank.

But it was nice listening to yours.

When you listen to the last line of "Magic Moments," you will feel the fulfilling and comfortably lovely awareness that always accompanies your Presence, Dearest San. For, My Precious Friend, it is unfailingly true that I know the reality of Magic moments filled with love
when you visit my mind and heart. (This is absolutely TRUE!!)
