At Close of Day
I would ... in every instance ... affirm Life. And, in so doing, I reflect on Campbell's admonition to embrace Mortality itself ... which is to accept the fundamental Truth that lies in Mortality not only being the prime condition of life ... but, also, the underlying source of all suffering. To confront Mortality, is to dispense with all of that "hocus pocus" that breeds Fear and Uncertainty. I like living in that realm of mental, spiritual, and emotional Liberty.
I am ... We are ... Mortal. This is the foundation upon which all rests. With acceptance of ... and comfort with ... our mortality, we can, genuinely, begin our unfettered celebration of living. I find great comfort and assurance in this Truth.
(Can you believe that I am yet still in the 'Introduction' to The Power of Myth? All these years, since my first reading of this amazing work ... and I still find myself enchanted with nearly every phrase. Thank You, Patient Reader, for your forgiving company. [smile])

live like we are dying ;) it does make sense because then we don't waste time on stuff that doesn't matter.
I think if you are not afraid of dying you can relax more and enjoy living.
Perhaps if the death was celebrated more like birth is, it could change things.
Seems to, quite naturally, make appreciation of this Moment easier ... don't you think, Lime, my Dear.
Loving You ...
Death ... Birth ... simply elements of the total Package ... so casually known as Life. Accepting ... unwrapping ... and enjoying the Gift of the Package, just seems, to me, my Dear Morrow, like an uncomplicated means of making the most of living.
(your Presence certainly enhances that Gift.) [smile]
Lovingly ...
The one thing I have never been afraid of, at any time in my life, has been dying. Odd, that, but true. Whether that's because of some great spiritual grounding, or just total ignorance, I'm not sure :-)
I have a solidly certain sense that You, my dear SulDog Friend, enjoy a well-established comfort with that lovely Being ... that is the Jim who I love and admire. This trumps those exterior elements of circumstance (of which the vagaries of health, and even death, are included.) I do enjoy your gentle and spirit-warming acceptance and appreciation of life ... as it is served up. You got it goin' on, My Friend!
