Frightened

"There are kids underneath my bed,"

Cried little baby monster Fred.

Momma monster smiled. "Oh, Fred,

There's no such things as kids," she said.

I've always liked Shel Silverstein's stuff, but I've rarely gone out of my way to find it. I usually come upon it as I did here, serendipitously, and then I say to myself, "Self, you should see if the library has some stuff by him."

Maybe this time I'll follow through on it.

This is my first awareness of Shel Silverstein's work. I found it through a piece on NPR.

I posted it in the hope that some kindred Spirit would find it as enchanting as I do. I am tickled that that kindred 'Someone' is you Jim ... my dear Suldog Friend.

Once again, I rejoice in our shared harmony.

Sure do love You Jim!

You, my precious Lime Darling, know how deeply I care about the pervasively crippling effects of Fear on the lives of those who succumb to its power.

This joyously light-hearted encouragement to dismiss those powers, through the sweet influences of Perspective, delight my Soul.

I am now a Silverstein convert! [smile]

Loving You always ...

[My] students loved the Shel Silverstein books.

When my nephew was little,
he quoted the "I've Been Eaten by a Boa Constrictor" poem.

Jack Prelutsky writes very similarly to Silverstein and his headache and
homework poems are a hoot!

Thank you for sharing!

Yet another illustration of the Joy and Wonder that You, my Dear Friend, have introduced into the World around You!

How very fortunate have been those blessed by your influence! (I happily count my Self among them.)

Lovingly ...

LOL! Being a mother, I know that sometimes you wish there were no such thing as kids!

Shel Silverstein was one of my daughter's favorites.
