Children

While they are, admittedly, always at the center and core of my Heart's affections, I have, of late, been even more keenly focused on Children.

Please share with me a few moments considering ...
our Children.

"Better to be driven out from

among Men ...

than to be disliked of Children."

Richard Henry Dana

"All Children wear a sign saying, "I want to be Important NOW!"

Many of our troubled Children carry with them their Troubles, because no one was willing to read the sign."

Dan Pursuit

"Children have never been good at listening to their Elders ...

But they have never failed to imitate them."

James Baldwin

"If a Child lives with Approval ...

he learns to live with Himself."

Dorothy Law Nolte

Because of the 'You' revealed through your Site, Dear Citizen Friend, I feel confident that You share, with Me, in the Beauty of each Child's total being. And that sharing, between our Spirits, gives me a sweet Pleasure.

Beautiful images, John-Michael - such innocence, trust and depth in those eyes.

If I may add to your wonderful quotes, I am reminded of something I heard a very long time ago.

Anne Sullivan, Helen Keller's teacher, said "Children require guidance and sympathy far more than instruction." Wise and sweet words.

Great thoughts, all worth remembering (and living.) I enjoyed the company of children this past weekend. I am refreshed as a result.

i am especially fond of that first quote.

have you ever read antoine de st. exupery's "the little prince?" i do believe you'd find a kindred in the author and his thoughts on children.

Yes, what Lime said! One of my favorite books of all time. You'll love it, if you haven't already loved it.

What a great post! Children is pure innocence until they are imprinted with our poisons of prejudice and ugliness. We could learn a lot if we ALL slowed down to just really sit AND listen.

As I read the word "sympathy" in Anne Sullivan's lovely quotation, the word, "simpatico" lept to my awareness. And the Oxford Dictionary's definition of 'simpatico' is, "similar in attributes or interests; compatible." Oh how I yearn to always maintain a position of being "similar in attributes or interests; compatible" with Children. I can imagine no greater joy in living.

I thank You, Darling Suza, for joining, in these moments of reflection, with Me. Your Presence enhances and beautifies the experience.

The joyful exuberance of a child-worthy Soul has always been a powerful source of your unending charm and attraction, My Dear SulDog Friend. And I know of no character trait more beautiful!

Loving You, Jim ...

I ADORE "The Little Prince," My Darling Lime! "You can see clearly only with your heart. What is truly important is invisible to the eyes." and "You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed." are forever favorites. Yet another Place where you and I find comfortable unity! [smile]

I have always felt that You, Precious Jillie, and I, have shared special moments in Life ... wiggling our spiritual 'toes' in a shared 'sandbox' of common understanding and joyful respect. From your first revealing of your loving and generous Soul (shown through your comments about your sweet Friend [who you accompanied through her 'valley of cancer'] I have known You as a treasured Part of my Life.

I love You ...
