I Must Sing

I must sing.
Sometime in Solo … a cappella …
In Chamber of silent solitude.
No bell, chime, or chord to establish a tone.
Neither harmonies of support nor Unison Partner.
But singly … solely responding to my Soul’s demand.

I must sing.
And fly on wings, of celebratory currents.
Rejoicing in Choir, and sustained by Orchestral might …
A chorus of like-spirited Souls …
And Orchestra of harmonious circumstance.
Glorious, yet so rare, these moments of oneness with others.

I must sing.
For silence is no option.
I will not be stilled, by absence of support …
Nor will I allow the pressings of life, to silence me.
My world cries for an elevating theme …
And each life encountered, longs for a song.

John-Michael, this is such a beautiful expression. I particularly love *And each life encountered, longs for a song* - how very true. I don't have a blog, but I have enjoyed visiting yours. Our spirits were sculpted to freely sing and that freedom is so evident here. Thank you.

Your "Our spirits were sculpted to freely sing" speaks to an ever-present awareness that unwaveringly prompts me to do whatever I can to unleash that "sculpted" instinct in All, who I am blessed to encounter, Dear Suza. Your lovely whisper touches and encourages that conviction. I thank you for your generous willingness to speak out.

Wow..that is ..amazing..well done JM...you have captured thoughts from many a heart...

If only we could all sing and write poetry like that...I guess the world needs some of us to sit and listen also!

I hope you will indulge me once again, John-Michael, and I promise not to overstay my welcome! But I felt compelled to come back and peruse your blog a little more.

Although this is the first time we have "met," I am so very touched and moved by your perspective on life, your genuine willingness to share that perspective with others, and your courage and openness. It is a rare gift and one that I can see others also appreciate and recognize. Namaste.

You, My Dearest Annie, are, indeed, a "needed" element of my life. Your "listening" is crucial to my desire to sing ... but you do far more than the "sit" that you suggest. You, My Dear Lady, infuse and endow. The critical and necessary Gifts of Grace, Vision, Colour, and Spiritual Fragrance are but a few of the enhancements that enrich my Being. You, Dear One, add to the dimension and scope of my life's texture. Inviting those, who I care about, to discover You ... was an intentional act, on my part, to add to the worth and savour of their life experiences.

Oh Yes, Annie, you do far more than "sit." And I do hope that my employment of what I glean from your Spirit's generosity, makes my song evermore worthy of your "listening."

I am hushed, Sweet Suzanne (with the warmest of smiles of fond recollection, I see your name and the "lights" come on in a chamber of my heart that has the name "Suzanne" forever on it.) ... but, as I was saying, I am hushed by your sweetly and tenderly whispered thoughts. "Indulging" you, Dear One, is an exercise that I relish today's opportunity to do ... as I, simultaneously, hope for many similar opportunities, into our tomorrows.

Please rest in the absolute assurance that your "welcome" is perpetual ... and can never be "overstayed." For, as hunger for a song ... my Soul yearns for the kinship of Soul's such as yours. Know that you are just as welcome, in the Email world, to stop in at JohnMichael@Brown.us if ever, and whenever you have an inclination to say "Hello." That would be a marvelous treat ... and a great compliment.

With my most sincere thanks for your generosity and kindness ...

We all do what we are created to do ... don't we Jim, my SulDog Friend. I sure am glad that our Friendship is part of "the mix." [loving smile]

Whatever elements of 'beauty' or goodness, having a home in my Being, are sustained and inspired by your loving Presence, My Darling Joni. You refresh and elevate me with your Spirit's sweet voice.

I love you ...
