Imprisoned

The presence of that key, in your hand,

Is no evidence of Freedom.

For, there is no more cruel a Jailer,

Than Choice.

Alas, Sweet Lime, my Dearest of Friends, Experience is an unyielding Teacher.

Fortunately, Love can reach in between the 'bars.'

oh my goodness how true that is. As people, it is so easy to emotionally spin IN the situation, living in that very moment...than to take the courage to recognise and step into the way out. Many times stepping into that way out is a new and unfamiliar door and that can be more emotionally crippling than staying in that imprisoned spot.
It is a choice.
At times I wonder, when the time comes for me to stand before God, how many of those doors will I see I have missed because I chose to not use the key.

You've certainly got that right, sometimes the choices we make, imprison us. Then there are choices that release us.

One of the oldest of adages is "It is easier for Man to accept the miseries of an unhappy Life ... than to confront the Fears of change." And it remains as true today as when it was first spoken.

Thank you, Dear Jules~, for your insightful thoughts. We, of course,
"stand before" the mirror of our own individual responsibility daily. And it is THAT reflection that we also have daily control over.

I love you.

"Choices," and our employment of our free Will, are the all-important shapers of our lives, are they not, Sweet Vi? I never hesitate to delight in my choice to love You.

I cry out to God
Seeking only His decision
Gabriel stands and confirms
I've created my own prison

Your words reminded me of this song by Creed, "My Own Prison." It's about choices.

WHOP!
That hits home! How true. How true.

A key is nothing unless it is to your own heart. ;0)

And so unnecessary, is that key ... when the door to our Heart is left open. Thank you for your lovely thought, CathDaughter.

Lovingly ..
