Life's 'Handiwork' ... It IsWell

There is, today, a great deal of “Hoo-Ha” over this business of “God or No God.” There is animosity, conflict, hatred, division, and even killing, over the name ascribed to One’s chosen deity.

I have been invited by Cesar (my ‘adopted,’ Gift from Life, Spirit-Son) to go to see the new comedy/satire movie “Religulous” this coming weekend. And I am looking forward to an enriching exchange of intimate conversation with him after we share that experience.

I had a conversation with a dear Friend a couple of days ago. And her dread and fear of these being the prophesied “Last Days” … trumpeting the arrival of “The Great Tribulation Period” … was palpable. I listened and respectfully offered what reassurances I could.

So, My dear Reader, in light of these surfacing concerns and interests. I will give you a hint of how I think and feel about the whole question.

Though I have neither a determining say nor any influence over the eternal truths that are none of my personal/practical business … I have a sweet and comfortable confidence in the “I Am” at the genesis of all that we can see displayed in these photos from the Hubble Telescope.

The marvels of generating energies at the center of every galaxy (known as “Black Holes”), and the intricacies illustrated in the wondrous balance of all of these incomprehensible exercises in power and infinite control … all mesh beautifully with the still, small, intimate whisperings of my inner Spirit … and give me a constant sense of complete rest and assurance … that all is in order and well in “hands” far more worthy of trust than any of my feeble concerns could ever deserve.

So, My Darling One, rest, with me, in the spirit of that old song that conveys the gentleness of rhythm and chord that I enjoy … and let your Spirit sing along with mine in the harmonies of “It Is Well With My Soul.”

“The Heavens declare the glory of God; and the Firmament sheweth His handiwork.” [1st verse of the 19th chapter of the book of PSALMS.] (How cool is that? It’s all just “Life’s Handiwork.” [loving smile])

I bid you “Peace,” and “Namaste.”

Photos: (with my sincere “Thank You” to Carole for her Email with the Gift of “the Top 10 Hubble Pictures.”) Top to bottom.

The Sombrero Galaxy - 28 million light years from Earth - was voted best picture taken by the Hubble telescope. The dimensions of the galaxy, officially called M104, are asmspectacular as its appearance It has 800 billion suns and is 50,000 light years across.

The Ant Nebula, a cloud of dust and gas whose technical name is Mz3, resembles an ant when observed using ground-based telescopes... The nebula lies within our galaxy between 3,000 and 6,000 light years from Earth.

In third place is Nebula NGC 2392, called "Eskimo" because it looks like a face surrounded by a furry hood. The hood is, in fact, a ring of comet-shaped objects flying away from a dying star. Eskimo is 5,000 light years from Earth.

At four is the Cat's Eye Nebula.

The Hourglass Nebula, 8,000 light years away, has a "pinched-in-the-middle" look because the winds that shape it are weaker at the centre.

In sixth place is the Cone Nebula. The part pictured here is 2.5 light years in length (the equivalent of 23 million return trips to the Moon).

The Perfect Storm, a small region in the Swan Nebula, 5,500 light years away, described as 'a bubbly ocean of hydrogen and small amounts of oxygen, sulphur and other elements'.

Starry Night, so named because it reminded astronomers of the Van Gogh painting. It is a halo of light around a star in the Milky Way.

The glowering eyes from 114 million light years away are the swirling cores of two merging galaxies called NGC 2207 and IC 2163 in the distant Canis Major constellation.

The Trifid Nebula. A 'stellar nursery', 9,000 light years from here, it is where new stars are being born.

John-Michael fabulous pictures takes your breath away. Being neither fearful of death or the world as we know it ending....I have faith in my God that things happen as they are intended to. Eventhough we humans have been given free choice and don't always use it correctly....I believe "IT" all blends together. Each of us is just BEING who we are. What will be, will be!

I found Einstein's "God did not create the universe to operate at the role of the dice. It is created with defined control and purpose." to be very reassuring. And was delighted to hear present-day scientists remarking that (in their current discoveries, concerning the wonders and mysteries of "black holes") they are continually validating Mr. Einstein's theories. Pretty insightful Guy, that One! [smile]

I thank you for your contributed insights, as well, Dear Anonymous Friend. I am genuinely glad that you enjoyed these photos. It seems to me that each time I look further beyond the old limits of my awareness ... there is wondrous beauty to be found.

Of course, the song you quoted was written after the author's children all died (but you knew that I'm guessing). And yet, God is in control. Somehow.

I think it's a very awe-inspiring idea that God knows all the stars BY NAME. Here we people haven't even discovered them all yet.

Because we, obviously, share a like appreciation for background stories and historic detail ... please allow me to offer (for your enjoyment) ... "Saved Alone." I think that you will also like some of the additional data that is shared in the "comments."

I do thank you, Mrs C, for your happy company in this, my little journey through this thing called "life." You make it far more fun. [smile]

Okay, are you singing the melody or the harmony? Can you hear me? I'm holding it out really long on that last note.

"It Is Well With My Soul" is one of my very favorite old hymns.

Fantastic! I haven't had the opportunity to sing bass on this song for many years. I'm all about a chance to share that with you , My dear Willow. Mind you, I like to get into the soul/spiritual/blues mode of a very slow swing with it. [smile] I do love it too!

You will probably enjoy the "saved Alone" link that I sent to Mrs C (above). It tells the story behind the song.

With a gladness of heart in sharing this with you ...

I have never seen these before. They are beautiful. They remind me of San's paintings. Thank you.

You, Dear Meg Wolff, are most welcome. I too knew an immediate, profound response to these images ... just as is true with San's amazing work. I thank you for that perspective.

it makes me think of the opening lines to a song by randy stonehill.

"when i was a child, i opened my eyes
looking for the hands
that moved the clouds across the skies.
and in my simple way i believed
the one who turned the world around
was reaching down for me
and that he's faithful."

for what it's worth, that sums it up for me.

I have rested in the gentle embrace of the comforting and encouraging spirit of this song's message ... and, in this state of blissful reassurance, I also celebrated the loveliness of our sweet Friendship, My Darling Lime.
